Hi, welcome to Odie's website. Odie is my 2nd Melody Dalmatian and he has lived up to the Melody reputation of lovely temperament and well balanced in body as well as mind. With limited showing opportunities in Colorado, Odie has done very well and finished his championship locally. Odie finished with an exciting two Best of Breeds and then went on to a Group 4 at the Buckhorn Kennel Club show July 2009. We have high hopes for him as a special in 2010. Our show season is over in Colorado and you will see Odie in 2010.
We are the Greenwalt family; Tracy, Dennis, Chase and Cole. We are located at the foothills of the beautiful Rocky Mountains in Fort Collins Colorado. We have owned and loved many Dalmatians for last 27 years. Dennis owned his first Dalmatian at 12 years old. Ollie was a Dalmatian/Lab mix. Ollie was a big beautiful, muscular dog with a paint splatter of spots and loved to play with large logs instead of sticks. Our dogs are house pets and we only have dogs that we can equally love and entertain. We like to say they entertain us.
Domino was my first Dalmatian dog. We attempted to play show dog with her but she wasnt show quality but a lovely pet. I was very lucky with her as she had a great temperament and was very healthy through her long life to 14 years of age. Domino didn’t do well as a show dog, but taught me a lot. She did start the show bug in me. I have been showing dogs through the years ever since.
My first show quality dog was a bitch named CH Melody Roxette. Roxy didn’t need me as a handler. I needed her. All I had to do was walk in the ring and she would win despite my novice handling skills. Roxy finished quickly as a young dog and had a great show career.
We rarely breed our dogs. I have bred 2 litters in those 27 years. I am very particular on who I breed and when. We have dogs that are stable in temperment and conformation. Our dogs are socialized from the time they are puppies and experience the outside world as much as possible.
We currently have three beautiful, happy, intelligent Dalmatians, "Odie", "Cinni", "Bella" and a Pembroke Corgi named "AnnDee", who keeps the dals in line. We have limited space for dogs at our home and only keep what we can love for their life time with us. Our dogs are house dogs and are involved in our daily family lives Our dogs are socialized and spoiled rotten, but well behaved.
